DROP DROP DROP delves into the consistency of cellulose acetate: using bi-layer plates, Cleto Munari creates a contrast between the hard-hedged and the very soft to the point of making the material seem liquid.
The technical challenge involves the achievement of sharp-edged surfaces alongside surfaces that are so smoothed and rounded as to apparently give the acetate the characteristics of a highly deformable material.
The spectrum between sharp-edged and very soft is manifested in the chromatic contrasts: once again, color is fundamental in Cleto Munari’s composition.
DROP DROP DROP takes us into the eclectic world of Cleto Munari, declaring the “pop” soul the collection by the Italian designer, who made his debut in the eyewear industry with Concave/Convex, which explores the potential of multilayer cellulose acetate.

Cleto Munari eyewear collection is the outcome of a visionary process made of people, expertise and joy. The collection is made in Italy in Montecchio Maggiore, Vicenza, by skilled artisans who master the goldsmiths’ crafts. Each frame features the finest manufacture, thanks to a process that gives value to craftsmanship. The collection is made of premium Italian cellulose acetate by Mazzucchelli 1849. The color combinations are custom made by Mazzucchelli exclusively for Cleto Munari. Stainless steel hinges ensure resistance and performance.
