Horus Collection

MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2022

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022, Punto Ottico Humaneyes celebrates Cleto Munari hosting Horus signature collection.

Horus

“Cannibalic, as a writer once said, is the eye of men: it explores, chooses, embraces the world, looks at it and transforms it into image. Sharp, predatory, like a hawk, are the eyes of Egyptian god Horus. And disymmetrical, as one is Sun and the other is Moon, to cover the entire extension of day and night, when Horus arranges chaos, harmony in the inconsistent variety of things. Over time, the dominant symbolism for Horus is the Eye-Sun, which has been acquired by Cleto Munari as stylistic feature of his own artistic identity, expression of his tireless research for harmony of forms and beauty. A stylistic feature that, here, completes the frames, as a seal suggesting that they are not prothesis, nor masks hiding eyes and looks, but a screen — reflecting, and for an instant suspending, the distracted flow of people and of things.”

Horus Collection

Cleto Munari expresses his creativity with essential lines and cheerful geometries that faithfully represent his character, reinterpreting three iconic frames by Jacques Durand. Bold, geometric shapes evoke a conflict of distinct forces, which find harmony in coexistence. Sun and Moon. Day and Night. Masculine and Feminine. Horus Collection explores the theme of duality.

Cleto Munari

Cleto Munari is the story of a sharp pencil moving with elegance among the sketches and the drawings of friends, architects, designers, intellectuals, taming them into a language that magically migrates from paper to matter, either poor materials, such as clay, or precious materials, such as gold and silver. Cleto Munari expresses his creativity with essential lines and cheerful geometries that faithfully represent his character. He creates a diverse, eccentric production, which is not influenced by seasonal trends and market demand.
