The Tailor made project is a tribute to the beauty that lies in authentic craftsmanship. It honors the know-how of skilled artisans who pour their expertise into their creation — authentic artisans who are able to give life to made-to-measure frames that speak timeless design.
You can rely on the artisans from Atelier Jacques Durand to create your own customized piece. Our team will guide you through the fascinating steps of the creation process — from finding the shape that suits you, evaluating the perfect size, to picking the acetate sheet the frames will be created from, choosing color and thickness. The frames will be perfected to evenly distribute their weight and provide the perfect fit: artisans will smooth each edge by hand for the very best comfort and support. You are invited to personalize your tailor-made piece with engraved initials.
The handcrafted, custom-made frames are the result of a sartorial process: the frames adapt perfectly to the facial features of the person they are designed for.
At each Punto Ottico Humaneyes store, you can be advised on how to create your custom-made frames. We partner with Atelier Jacques Durand, where artisans master the craftsman techniques inherited from Vicenza’s goldsmith tradition, while preserving the heritage of eyewear manufacturing know-how.
3D facial scanner technology is integrated into the creation process.
Starting from a 3D scan of the person’s face, it is possible to produce a physical model of the face that faithfully reproduces its features: a facial imprint that will serve as a reference for the artisans in the designing phase of the custom-made glasses.
The 3D scanner is an optical device that allows the upper area of the face to be digitized, reconstructing a three-dimensional image that reproduces the distinctive features of the person’s face in every detail. The 3D image of the face is then sent to a 3D printer that will produce the facial imprint.
The 3D-printed facial model is sent to Atelier Jacques Durand where it will serve as a reference for the craftsmen to design a frame that adapts perfectly to the person’s facial features, improving comfort and providing fit precision, using the physical model of the face as a reference.
